Welcome to the Seven Lakes High School Band

We are excited to welcome you and your family to the Seven Lakes High School Band program!

 

This page is designed to be your starting point for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll find important information about registration, required purchases, communication, audition information, and other next steps to help your student get started.

 

The Spartan Band is a large, active, and highly successful program, and there are several important items to complete before the season begins. Our goal is to make this process as clear and organized as possible so every student is prepared, connected, and ready for a great year.

First Steps

1. Contact a Director

All new to the program students need to first contact a director to ensure your student gets accounted for and properly enrolled in the program.

This presentation includes important information about the program, fees, communication, required items, summer expectations, marching band, and the Grand Nationals trip.

3. Complete Registration

Below you will find links to all registration items for the 2026-2027 Seven Lakes High School Band.

Some items are required, some are recommended, and others are opportunities to support your student and the program.


Please review each section carefully and complete the required steps to finalize your student’s registration for the upcoming school year.

Step 1 - Registration Form

Complete the registration form below to ensure all contact information and dietary needs for your student are up to date.

Step 2 - Grand Nationals Trip

The Spartan Band will be traveling to Grand Nationals during the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for our students and program, and it requires early planning from families.

 

All students in the marching band participate in the trip must complete the trip registration process.

Step 3 - Submit Audition

Auditions help us place students in the correct ensemble and set them up for success. Please review the audition information carefully so students understand what to prepare, when auditions take place, and what is expected.


Our goal is always to place students where they can grow, contribute, and have a successful experience in the program.

Brass & Woodwind Students

Prepare and submit a video recording of the following:

  • Three major scales of your choosing
  • Chromatic scale
  • You playing a piece of band music, solo, or an etude that best represents your playing ability.

Percussion Students

Please email Mr. Vinson, Percussion Director to arrange at time to either play in person or submit a video.

Step 4 - Pay Band Fees

Band fees help cover many of the required items, services, and experiences that support students throughout the year. Families may choose to pay in full or use the payment plan option.

Payment plans are available to those who need them. Please choose the Installment Plan link below to sign-up for recurring monthly installment payments.

If you would like to discuss alternative financial arrangements with our treasurer or president, please complete the Financial Assistance Discussion Request form.

Fundraising & Financial Support

We know that band is a significant investment for our families, and we want to provide several ways to help offset costs when possible. Please review the opportunities below and take advantage of the ones that work best for your family.

Adopt a Day Calendar

The Adopt a Day Calendar is a Grand Nationals fundraising opportunity that allows family, friends, and community members to sponsor specific calendar days in support of your student.

HEB Gift Card Program

Families are encouraged to plan ahead for monthly HEB gift card purchases. This is an easy way to support your student’s band account through purchases your family may already be making.

Corporate Sponsorships Incentive

Families can earn a discount on band fees by helping secure corporate sponsorships. This is a great way to involve local businesses while directly supporting your student’s band experience.

Step 5 - Sign Up for SportsYou

We will use SportsYou as one of our main communication tools for students and parents. All families need to join the appropriate SportsYou groups and turn on notifications so you do not miss important updates.

Step 6 - Purchase New Student Bundle

All new band students are required to purchase the appropriate New Student Bundle for their section. These bundles include essential gear students will need for rehearsals, performances, uniforms, and travel throughout the year.

Competition Guard Bundle Includes:

  • Backpack
  • Garment Bag
  • Flag Bag

Percussion Bundle Includes:

  • Duffle Bag
  • Garment Bag
  • Practice Shirt
  • Marching Shoes

Winds Bundle Includes:

  • Duffle Bag
  • Garment Bag
  • Gloves
  • Practice Shirt
  • Marching Shoes

Step 7 - Purchase Additional Required Items

BRASS & WOODWIND STUDENTS are required to have the following items:

  • Navy water jug (1 gallon minimum)
  • Flip folder
  • Lyre (woodwinds required, brass optional)
  • 2 pair black sleeveless compression shirts
  • 2 pair black compression shorts
  • Long black socks
  • Gloves

Step 8 - Schedule Student Physical

All students are required to pass a physical exam in order to participate in any athletic activity- this includes band.

  • All physicals must be complete before the first day of band camp.
  • Physicals completed by your personal physician:
  • Print form and take to doctor for completion.
  • Upload form to RankOne.
  • Katy ISD sponsored physical examinations ($30 fee):
    • Offered throughout the summer at various locations in the district.
    • No need to complete any forms. All information automatically uploaded to RankOne

Step 9 - Link Band Calendar

All rehearsals, performances & events can be found on our Band Calendar.

 

7LBand! is the password to access the calendar page. We suggest linking the calendar to your phone so you can stay up to date on all information and changes automatically.

Step 10 - Sign Up for Booster Membership

Join our Spartan Band Booster Club by purchasing a Booster Membership. All parents are encouraged to join! Membership grants voting rights in all official booster club business.

Step 11 - Purchase Spartan Band Spirit Wear
